Damage to Vehicle Waiver - D.V.W. : The hirer is responsible for the full cost of damage or loss to the rented vehicle. This can be reduced or
eliminated by the two options of D.V.W. listed below:
Option 1 - Limited Liability(L.D.W.) - The hirer can limit liability for loss/damage to the rented vehicle by paying Damage to Vehicle
Waiver (D.V.W.).
Option 2 - Reduce Liability - The hirer can reduces his/her liability from the full cost in case of damage/loss to the rented vehicle by
purchasing the D.V.W. at a daily cost of US30.00 per day for some cars and jeeps, and US$46.00 per day for buses, Suzuki Vitaras and Luxury cars.
Whats is Included:
- Loss/Damage to exterior due to collision or theft
- Loss/Damage to exterior fixtures e.g. side mirrors, wipers, antennae due to collision or theft
- Windscreen damage
- Damage to road wheels (tyres, rims, hubcaps)
Whats is Not Included:
The following are not covered if the vehicle is returned with loss/damage to these interior items and there is no evidence or report of
a break-in
Mats, Radio/CD/Tape, Speakers, Tools, Spare Tyres, Vents, Upholstery, Carpets & other Fabric coverings, Lost keys, Damage to undercarriage or engine as a result of negligent operation
of the vehicle.
Credit Card Auto Coverage:
Fully Covered Cards:
Some Canadian and U.S.A. credit cards offer collision damage waiver for rentals in the island of and so cardholders may decline to purchase our D.V.W options.
However, it is the responsibility of the hirer to verify this coverage before renting. Further verification by our representatives may be required on arrival. By using one of these
cards, it means the cardholder is accepting full liability for all loss/damage to the rented vehicle. In the event of loss/damage, the card will be charged, in keeping with the
regulations set out by the card company, for the full amount. It is the responsibility of the hirer to submit his/her claim for reimbursement with the card company. A nominal
deposit of US$500.00 will be taken on the credit card at the beginning of the rental which is for loss/damage. In the event the sum exceeds this amount, additional funds will be
sought on the credit card. The deposit is refundable if there is no loss/damage.
Others:
Declining D.V.W.: hirer who prefer not to purchase any of our D.V.W. options and who do not have a Canadian or U.S.A.
fully covered card may do so. However, such hirers will be required to leave a deposit which will vary according to vehicle category. This is refundable if there is no loss/damage.
In the event of a loss/damage, the client will be billed by Demo Car Rentals and must pursue their own claim for compensation with their card company. Demo Car Rentals
will not be able to act on their behalf.
Personal Accident Insurance: This can be purchased at daily rate of US$6.00. It covers the Driver and passengers in the Hired vehicle.
Third Party Insurance: Full third party insurance is included in the rental charges.
Third Party Liability Insurance: Third party insurance is not included in the rental charges and is available for US$10 to US$20 per day depending on
the vehicle category, however if client has this coverage on credit card then their is no need to purchase at the counter.
